Hyde is basically Jekyll's id, or his primal self and his inner desires. Jekyll was putting all the blame on Hyde, but in reality, it was his inner shadow expressing itself.
In the dual of men, it states that you can't live with one than the other, you have to have both. Inside everyone there is an Apollo and Dionious or like in every Jekyll, there is a Hyde. but the one you feed the most like for example you do good you are feeding your good side but if your a Douchebag, you going to feed your bad side.
We are all born good , but as we age, slowly we may gain counscience in our choice making, so we may feed into our evil side based on our influnce on the enviroment around us. For example, in the book Jekyll started out good, he has friends and was rightous, he was looked apound as person with morality, but when he started exsparimented, he started tilting to his Hyde side becuase he enjoyed it, he also didn't want to be respondible for what Hyde did and the guilt of after doing something bad.
